Cicmany
One of the prettiest Villages in Slovakia
Cicmany is located in the northern part of Middle-Slovakiain the Strazuvske Vrchy mountains between Zilina und Prievidza, apart from the main roads.
Cicmany is wellknown for its painnted wooden houses, used by the owners as weekend houses and kept well as reminder of the past and the old traditions.
Today Cicmany is in the status of a national cultural memorial.
The last pictures show the interieur of one of the houses. 15 to 20 people lived in one house in the past.
Interesting is the "design" of the clapboards used for sealing the roofs.
The last picture shows me with a Fujara, a traditional flute of the sheppards in Slovakia.
To listen to the sound of the Fujara, press the Start button.
